Which kind of transportation is available in the ITER area?

  • By Car

    ITER is located close to the A51 motorway linking Aix-en-Provence with the Alps. It is approximately 35 km from Aix-en-Provence and 20 km from Manosque.

    Heading south to Aix en Provence, there is one important motorway hub (A8 to go to the French Riviera /A7 to go to Lyon, Paris/ A54 and A9 to go to Toulouse, Spain).

    By Train

    Major train stations are located in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille :

    • ’Aix-en-Provence centre’ is located in the city centre of Aix en Provence. For further information related to train schedules, please click here.
    • ’Aix-en-Provence/Arbois TGV’ is 15 minutes by car and 30 min by bus from Aix en Provence city. This is the ’train à grande vitesse’, or high-speed, train station. For further information about train schedules, please click here

    The closest international airport is Marseille-Provence located in Marignane, approximately 1 hour by car from ITER.

    The airport has direct connections with many large international hubs : Paris, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam.
