French Language Programs for IO staff

These French-Language Programs are open to all IO Directly Employed Staff who have not acquired a B1 (intermediate) level in French.

The Welcome Office of the Agence Iter France provides French language programs free of charge for two years or until the participant reaches level B1 (based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) within the two years of training.

3 programs are available to IO staff:

  • The ITER-site Program runs on Skype for Business Meetings (since March 2020)
  • The evening course in Manosque is organized with the GRETA at Collège Jean Giono in Face-to-Face
  • The evening course in Aix-en-Provence is organized remotly with the SUFLE of AMU (Aix Marseille University)

1/ ITER-SITE PROGRAM

For this program, the Welcome Office partners with two teachers, Florence Metzger and Sandrine Lamblin, both specialized in French as a Foreign Language (called “FLE” for “Français Langue Étrangère”)

Each participant gets 2 hours of group classes a week plus an optionnal 30 minutes of Tutoring per week. 6 Groups of level are open in September.

2/ EVENING COURSE IN MANOQUE

In Manosque the Agence ITER France partners with the GRETA of Manosque. GRETA are the national education structures that organize training for adults in most professions. 

IO Staff that are full beginners in French can register to this evening course. There is one session a year (30 hours), in Face-to-Face, every Thursday evening in the Collège Jean Giono.

3/ EVENING COURSE IN AIX-EN-PROVENCE

In Aix-en-Provence, the French courses are organised within the Aix-Marseille Unisersity (called AMU) and its University Service of French as a Foreign Language (called SUFLE).

Evening classes are held on Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. 3 sessions of 20 hours are organized every year. Registration need to be processed in advance by contacting: Magali.Chabrand@iter.org

Please note, it is not possible to be in class at 6pm if you are riding the ITER shuttle bus after your workday, a car is needed.
